Our Commitment should be to Him and not ourselves.

Luke 9:23-27

[23] And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23-27

[24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

[25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

[26] For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's , and of the holy angels.

[27] But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Kingdom of God.

I have learned over the years that fitting God into my schedule was not a good thing.  Let the desires of this world and yourself be replaced His love; it is by His grace that you are saved and sanctified.

Remember, our Heavenly Father is NOT just a Sunday thing; HE is not just
somebody you take your problems to.  It is a life long, eternal commitment.

The definition is taken from the Webster dictionary:  an act of committing to a
charge or trust.

Couples that get married have committed to each other; we commit to our
children, we commit to friendships, but yet the hardest commitment in a
believers walk is commitment to the LORD.
But if you are not committed in your marriage, or friendships,
nor to your children, you won't be committed to Him.

You can't praise Him and not do His will.

Committing yourself to Him involves your time (which a lot of us don't
make for Him); it involves effort; it involves adjusting;  it involves a desire.
You can have the desire, but you don't do anything with it.  Commit
yourself.  He has a job for each of us; ask Him where He wants you to be.
Remember, don't keep building walls; it is time to live for our Lord.

You are hindering your walk with Him by not committing.  You are hindering
your spiritual growth.  Well, I am here to tell you that spiritual growth
does hurt at times, but Jesus says He will never forsake us and
He is there in the midst of every storm. So whom shall we fear?!  NOBODY!!

If you lack desire and commitment to your walk, here is a prayer for you:
Heavenly Father, I pray right now for commitment; I pray for a desire to
burn within me for You.  I pray that that desire fill me now, and that I move
forward in your plan for me.

Father, help me to have commitment to you; help me to give more of
myself to you.  Create in me a hunger for truth in Jesus' name.  Amen.

PRAISE ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.

Psalms 106:1
